Isabelle Cattiaux is a contemporary abstract painter. She was born in France and moved to Canada with her family when she was a young child and grew up in Montreal, Québec. She moved to Nova Scotia in 2008, a place she loves and now calls home.
Becoming an artist was not in her plans and not a journey she thought she would ever undertake. It all started in a very natural way, later in her life. It was a sudden burst of creativity, something that she never knew existed in her. When you look at her paintings, you see how vibrant and original they are. As a self-taught artist, she is not restrained by a belief system that dictates what is right and what is wrong. She experiments with various mediums and styles, but abstract art and mandalas are primarily what she does. A world of colors, shapes, forms and textures that she invites you to discover.
She works from her home art studio in Meteghan River and has exposed her work in many local solo and group exhibitions, in art shops, galleries and restaurants. Isabelle is a member of the C.A.B. Conseil des Arts de la Baie and has participated in their exhibitions: a great experience, which among others, brought her good press coverage.
